The Great Gent-Wevelgem is now available as a full cycling tour! With the promotion of this former semi-classic to full classic with 50 extra kilometers and many more climbs we can offer another great cycling vacation.
As with all our tours we will stay in countryside villas and ride right out our door to some of the best roads Flanders has to offer. This will allow us to ride many of the climbs used in this and many other Spring Classics.
Experience one of Belgium's finest Spring Classic races this March while adding some base miles to your spring training. Get an early start on the upcoming season by joining us for the 2010 Gent Wevelgem!
Itinerary
Thursday: Arrive in Brussels, Belgium. Upon arrival at the airport, bike and gear transport to the selected accommodations. Assemble bikes, and go on casual ride (approximately 30-50 km/20 mi).
Friday: Riding throughout the day. Moderate riding along the byways of Belgium’s countryside. Photo opportunities exist due to the scenic nature and occasional windmills spottings (60-80 km/50 mi)
Saturday: Ride sections of the Gent-Wevelgem race route including some of the new climbs. (60-80 km/50 mi).
Sunday:A short ride in the morning (30-40 km/ 20 mi) and then off to watch the pro's on a few of the climbs, including the Kemmelburg!
Monday: Pack bikes and gear and head back to the airport .
Other trip details
To secure your reservation please book at least sixty days prior to departure. Trips are capped at 14-16 people in order to keep the group size moderate and comfortable. Trips fill up so sign up early!
Weather in Belgium in the spring is very unpredictable. Please bring the appropriate riding gear for all weather conditions including rain, snow, cool temperatures, and brisk winds. You could be riding all day in unpleasant conditions. Please check our packing list for clothing recommendations.
